Striving for excellence

Welcome to Alexander McLeod
Primary School

We believe that it is the duty of all of us working at Alexander McLeod Primary School to make differences to improve our children’s learning each day, every day. These changes are made in the belief that they will have a transformational effect on our children’s lives.

At Alexander McLeod we celebrate the diversity of the wider community and have high expectations and big ambitions for its future success. We are committed to work in partnership with parents and carers to provide an education of the highest quality. Through weekly newsletters, workshops, coffee mornings, weekly celebration assemblies and shared learning assemblies, families and staff work together. As part of our commitment to life-long learning, parents are included in our vision to provide adult learning opportunities which will help transform and enrich our community. Together, we can succeed.

Working in collaboration with a range of partners in education, our high aspirations, rich and vivid curriculum and commitment to developing independent learning is making a real difference. Alexander McLeod is on a learning journey of rapid improvement and is an outwardly looking school. We are involved in various projects to raise standards and accelerate our children’s progress which will enable our pupils to achieve their full potential.

The children are at the centre of everything we do at Alexander McLeod Primary School, we endeavour to ensure that they feel happy, safe and valued. We understand that the leaders of our future are the children of today and we strive to ensure that they are provided with an excellent education which inspires, challenges and instils a love of learning.

We should like to invite prospective parents to visit our Reception classes during November. The visits are for parents of children starting the Reception year in September 2021.

We hope that the visit will enable parents to make an informed decision about their choice of primary school and provide an opportunity to see our attractive, stimulating classrooms and large, green outdoor spaces. A senior leader will guide the  visit and staff will be available to answer questions about our learning, settling in routines and and any other inquiries that parents may have.

In order to keep COVID secure, only one adult and one child from each family ( excluding babies and toddlers ) should attend the session.

We ask adults to wear a mask and observe social distancing rules.

At the moment we are only able to offer tours of the Reception building and outdoor provision; it is hoped that the whole school tours will re-commence in the New Year.

The dates of the tour as as follows:

Tuesday 3rd November - 8am and 4pm

Thursday 12th November - 8am and 4pm

Tuesday 17th November - 8am and 4pm

Thursday 26th November- 8am and 4pm

To book a place on one of the visits, please contact the School Office on 0208 311 22 66 or email
